“We do not stick to a rule. We always have a new face for our creation,” Facetasm designer Hiromichi Ochiai told W in March. And, for his label’s Paris Fashion Week debut, he seems to have kept to his principles: Though he’s maintained a careful eye for sportswear, his Spring 2017 collection for Paris Men’s Fashion Week also presented racetrack-ready checks and carefully coifed UFOs of hair. (The statement-making crossing guard vests of the Spring 2016 collection also reprised their roles.) Ochiai’s designs increasingly blur the gender binary — here, he presents menswear that includes tulle-embellished bustiers and, of course, his label’s ever-present skirts.
