Hamptons Style, Summer 2018: What Going to the Beach Looks Like on Long Island’s East End
There are plenty of beachy destinations that New Yorkers can easily access: the Rockaways are just a subway ride away, Fire Island is close as well. But for a certain set of New Yorkers there’s only one destination that fits the bill: the Hamptons. Located on the South Fork of Long Island, and made up of a series of small towns, the population of the Hamptons swells throughout the summer, but particularly balloons in August, when the heat of New York City becomes intolerable. So, W‘s photographer on the scene patrolled the East End for those final weeks of summer, documenting the beach scene. (If you’re looking for parties, there’s that too.) Here, a closer look at what Hamptons style looks like in August.
