J.W.Anderson Seeks Inspiration North of the Wall, In Your Grandma’s Crochet Basket for Fall 2017
A native Northern Irelander, designer Jonathan Anderson grew up amid the landscape that backdrops HBO’s Game of Thrones, whose lush settings are found in both Iceland and Northern Ireland. So perhaps it’s no surprise that his latest menswear collection for his eponymous label boasts house crests worthy of the Starks or Lannisters, as well as chunky, oversized knitwear to keep his models warm for the long winter ahead. Then, there was the more homespun thread running through the whole collection: Patches of bright crocheted squares adorned smocks, sweaters, and even dangled over the fronts of shoes.
