In the Moment

Michelle Williams and Nicolas Ghesquire

The fashion calendar is a strange one. Currently, the international fashion press is gearing up for a month’s worth of fall 2015 collections. Meanwhile, pieces from spring 2015 have yet to hit all of the stores. Louis Vuitton managed this seasonal limbo when it premiered the first installment of its traveling exhibition “Louis Vuitton Series 2: Past, Present, Future” in Los Angeles Thursday night. The show, which runs at 1135 North Highland Avenue through February 22nd, provides a behind-the-scenes look at women’s artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière‘s creative process through a “series” (get it?) of immersive rooms, including ones devoted to the brand’s iconic logo, the backstage of the spring 2015 presentation and accessories. Many of the house’s loyal celebrity clientele, among them Catherine Deneuve, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jennifer Connelly and Michelle Williams, wound their way through the rooms while wearing pieces from— what else?—the current collection.
