Vetements Spring 2017 Kicks Off Paris Haute Couture

Vêtements Haute Couture Fashion Week Fall 2017

Vetements is disrupting the fashion system in more ways than one. This season, designer Demna Gvasalia and his brother Guram opted to show their Spring 2017 collection during Paris Haute Couture, rather than waiting to show during Paris Fashion Week in just a few months. The design collective also created each piece in partnership with other brands – including Levi’s, Comme des Garçons Shirt, Reebok, Dr. Martens, Manolo Blahnik and many others. Neither move took away from the momentum of Vêtements, though. And Gvsalia’s signature styles—hoodies, reworked denim—were still present. Photographer Isabel Martinez was on the scene to capture the best moments from backstage and on the runway. Here, a closer look.
