At just 17, model Alanna Arrington has already walked for some of the biggest names in the business. She made her runway debut for Fall 2016, opening for Altuzarra, appearing in Diane Von Furstenberg's star-studded runway-slash-dance party, and walking for Lanvin, Céline, Mulberry, and Louis Vuitton. Not a bad resume for a single season! Louis Vuitton, in particular, fulfilled a long-held aspiration: Arrington had been watching Vuitton's shows ever since she started thinking about modeling (before she set her sights on fashion in middle school, she thought she might become a doctor or astronomer). "After the show I cried many happy tears," she recalls.

Growing up in the rural Midwest, Arrington played basketball, and she credits the sport with giving her a balanced perspective on nutrition and exercise in an industry that's notoriously unbalanced. "I also had good mental strength, so criticism was never something that was hard to deal with," she says.

Arrington's also part of a cadre of models with full heads of very curly hair. (See also: Tre Samuels.) Her mane requires a bit of special maintenance, and, here, she's shared her tips for keeping her head — and the rest of her body — healthy, hydrated, and smelling like Versace.
