Anya Taylor-Joy Enters the Winner’s Circle in Miu Miu

The Empire Award winner for Best Female Newcomer takes the crown for best look on the red carpet, too.

Anya Taylor-Joy has been going non-stop since she broke out in the festival-favorite horror film The Witch in 2015. She soon made a name for herself as Hollywood’s new favorite scream queen — quickly racking up a credit with M. Night Shyamalan for Split — as well as a new face to watch on the red carpet. A former model, Taylor-Joy was scouted on the streets of London by Sarah Doukas at Storm Models, the woman who also first plucked Kate Moss out from the crowd. So it’s only natural that her sartorial talent rivals her on-screen prowess.

All this is to say, it comes as little surprise that Taylor-Joy was the all-around winner at the Three Empire Awards in London this weekend, where she nabbed the Best Female Newcomer award — an accolade previously earned by the likes of Felicity Jones, Karen Gillan, and Daisy Ridley, Taylor-Joy’s countrymen the lot of them. Not only that — she also our eye in a dazzling Miu Miu wrap dress, taking home the best dressed prize as well.

Who: Anya Taylor-Joy.

When: Saturday, March 19.

Where: The Three Empire Awards at the Roundhouse in London, England.

What: A silver paillette-embellished wrap dress with a black silk bow by Miu Miu and silver sandals.

Why: Anya Taylor-Joy’s Miu Miu look is far from subtle, yet its appeal is all in the details. The showy silver dress is embellished with thousands of silver paillettes of varying diameters, creating a tactile textural impression that elevates a simple wrap silhouette. It recalls Elle Fanning, another Young Hollywood ingénue of Taylor-Joy’s ilk, similarly handy with statement looks by the likes of Miu Miu and Gucci. Taylor-Joy draws attention to a daring plunging neck with a bare collarbone, sans accessories, while a dark eye and glamorous gentle waves top off the whole thing. Anya Taylor-Joy, scream queen, is quite the scaredy-cat — especially when it comes to revolving doors:
