The Knowles-Carter dynasty is officially nine years old. Tuesday marks Beyoncé and Jay Z's ninth anniversary since tying the knot in a very private ceremony on April 4, 2008, after around six previous years together. Traditionally, nine years of marriage means pottery gifts for the happy couple, but mother-of-the-bride Tina Knowles went in a different direction, blessing her daughter and son-in-law Jay-Z with a priceless throwback photo of their nuptials, and it's not even Thursday.
Tina posted the never-before-seen picture on Instagram. In it, Beyoncé and Jay Z are departing the altar as husband and wife in front of a ceremony full of happy guests just moments after saying their vows, and the two look every inch the picture of newlywed marital bliss. She captioned the photo, "9 years already??? Congratulations to the Carters❤❤on their Anniversary ? ( thats my arm fixing the dress lol)."
Once again, Beyoncé may be embarrassed by her mom's Instagram habits, but the rest of us our living for it.
Although Beyoncé and Jay Z's nuptials were kept closely under wraps at the time, this is not the first we're seeing of the beautiful ceremony. Beyoncé's unforgettable visual album Lemonade, although not altogether a picture of an easy marriage, did include a major look at the couple's big day. Lemonade's not the only musical project that the Carters featured their wedding in. The event was also included in the couple's On the Run tour, as well as in the stand-alone music video for Beyoncé's "All Night."
Beyoncé and Jay Z are, of course, parents to 5-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, with a pair of very notable new babies on the way. If there's a common thread throughout the couple's lengthy relationship, it's that no matter what—from Tina Knowles' wedding pic to Beyoncé's pregnancy announcement—the Knowles-Carters win for being one of the most photogenic families ever.
