Behold: Black Panther's 15 Best Lines For You to Relive and Rejoice Over

More than any other Marvel film, Black Panther is a reflection of the world we live in, and the world we’re destined to live in if change doesn’t happen. Its many lessons are timely—stay for the post-credits speech that warns against the dangers of building walls—but the moral makeup of Black Panther is also delivered in subtler ways (every female in the film is either a warrior, a scientist, or a spy—more importantly, it's never spoken of). But for all its seriousness, Black Panther is also, for our money, Marvel's most drolly funny movie to date. (Spare us the meta-humor of Thor: Ragnorak and Deadpool, please.) Here, the 15 lines that got the biggest laughs and biggest roars.

“It’s these two Grace Jones-looking chicks.”

You might say that, too, if it were the early 90's and two completely fierce Wakanda warrior princesses showed up at your L.A. apartment.

“This corset is really uncomfortable so can we all wrap this up and go home?”

Only Black Panther's little sister can take the air out of his ultra-serious crowning ceremony. In fact, Shuri, played by the fantastic newcomer Letitia Wright, gets all the best jabs at Chadwick Boseman. Case in point...

“The real question is what are THOSE?”

You need to let the King know when his footwear is wack.

"DELETE that footage."

Yeah, the King getting his ass kicked by his own suit would've gone viral.

“If you’re not so stubborn, you would make a great queen." “I would make a great queen because I am stubborn—if that’s what I wanted.”

Classic Chadwick and Lupita, right?

"I want you to get this ridiculous thing off my head."

Danai Gurira really delivers the punchline to this empowering natural hair moment later, when she literally takes her wig and throws it during a fight.

“Please don’t make me listen to your music.”

A general truth applicable to most situations, not just when Martin Freeman is confronted by a weapons dealer: No one wants to hear your mixtape.

“Guns: So primitive.”

Who needs bullets when you have a vibranium spear?

“Great, another broken white boy for us to fix."

Are we shipping Letitia Wright and Martin Freeman? Not saying no to it.

“Don’t scare me like that, colonizer!"

Trivia question: Is this line from Black Panther or The Crown?

“Would you kill me, my love?”

Trivia question: Is this line from Black Panther or Phantom Thread?

“Hi, auntie.”

That's cold, Michael B. Jordan. You're not allowed to do that to Angela Bassett.

"Can you believe that? A kid from Oakland walking around and believing in fairytales."

Brought us straight back to Michael B. Jordan's first movie with Ryan Coogler, Fruitvale Station.

"“When you said you would take me to California for the first time, I thought you meant Coachella."

Letitia Wright really deserves the last laugh in this movie.

"Wakanda forever!"
