On the heels of their inaugural furniture collection, Hermès is expanding into the home textile world, not just with beautiful silks (though there are those too) but also with upholstery-ready signature patterns in cotton, cashmere, wool, and linen. Possibly even more exciting: the debut of a striking variety of wallpaper means you can literally surround yourself with Hermès.

This new line combines the 30-plus years of experience from Italian textile powerhouse Dedar with the artistic direction of Hermès for offerings that are both playfully illustrative and cleanly graphic: expressive horse race scenes in bright colors, elephants in royal regalia, or tone-on-tone abstracted “H”s, and a seemingly hand-drawn herringbone print.

And if you’re particularly struck by one of the fabrics, take a cue from this year’s Kips Bay Show House (open through May 26) and use it to upholster your walls. Dedar’s oversized ikat print was used to great dramatic effect in what otherwise could have been a forgotten stairwell.

The collection, produced under the joint subsidiary, Faubourg Italia, will be available starting this month at select Hermès locations.
