Arman
Arman Sarkisyan was destined to be a jewelry designer. A native of Armenia, he practically grew up in his father’s studio, where he started dabbling in goldsmithing at age 12. Now based in Los Angeles, Sarkisyan designs ornate yellow gold and oxidized silver pieces that draw from gothic and Byzantine-era motifs. One standout: a jumbo gold cocktail ring detailed with hand-etched curlicues and set with an emerald cabochon. Sarkisyan prides himself on the old-school methods he learned from his father; everything is handmade. Thus, he says, “I have an emotional attachment to each and every piece that leaves my studio.”
