H&M Fall 2014

The high street gets a luxurious fashion show in Paris

H&M Fall 2014

For spring 2014, H&M shocked the presses by showing its affordable designs in a swanky pop-up outside of the Musée Rodin during Paris Fashion Week. For fall 2014, the Swedish retailer one upped itself with a second runway show, this year held at the Grand Palais—a venue most notably associated with Chanel Couture’s elaborate productions. Ann-Sofie Johansson, the brand’s creative head of design, transformed the space into a sleek, urban cityscape, complete with a live soundtrack courtesy of punky, up-and-comer HollySiz, who kept the energy high by bouncing around in a little white top and skinny black pants singing her hit “Come Back to Me.” Modern-day supermodels—Joan Smalls, Mariacarla Boscono, and Lindsey Wixson—hit the runway alongside newcomers—baby Bardot Anna Ewers and mega-blonde Devon Windsor. The clothes looked to what sexy, sophisticated women—such as those in the front row: Miranda Kerr, Solange Knowles, Jessica Alba, and Jourdan Dunn—really want to wear. Major hits included sporty, sequin-covered mini dresses paired with knee-high boots, a chic boyfriend jumpsuit, and covetable outwear like plush aviator jackets. See our five favorite looks here.
