Kirsten Dunst Was Tricked Into Smoking Real Weed on the Set of Woodshock

“I started to feel like I was losing my mind.”

Kirsten Dunst was as charming as ever during her Tuesday appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, regaling the audience with a cringe-worthy tale from the set of her trippy new movie Woodshock, directed by Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy. The movie involves many a weed-smoking scene, and during one take, a joint filled with real marijuana found its way to Dunst without her knowledge.

Usually on set, she explained on Kimmel, actors smoke fake pot, which is “whatever they roll… tobacco if you smoke cigarettes, they roll herby stuff—not herb, but you know—like fake whatever. Oregano.”

Even though Dunst got dosed with real pot instead of oregano, she seems be taking what happened in stride—although she shares she was “flipping out” at first. “After we were done with the scene, I went back to this little bedroom to rest and I started to feel like I was losing my mind. I went to the bathroom, I’m pacing. I told the director there was something wrong with me, I think I need to go to the hospital. There’s something seriously up, I feel like I’m losing my mind!” she said. “[The director] goes back, he looks at everything that I smoked to make sure everything is okay, and came back and said, ‘You smoked a full blunt on one of the takes.”

Not only was it a full blunt, Dunst added, it was a full blunt of Humboldt weed, which is notoriously strong.

Apparently the team that rolled the joints threw in some real marijuana “for fun,” which may not be how Dunst would describe her experience. “I was crying, laughing, eating a peanut butter sandwich. I couldn’t film anymore, they sent me home! I was a total mess!” Dunst said. “I’ve never been that stoned in my entire life!”

Watch Dunst recount the experience below.
