Eau de Bis

W’s features editor has her eye on Linda Rodin’s new perfume.

Linda Rodin Bis Set

The stylist-turned-beauty guru Linda Rodin doesn’t know what perfume her late mother wore, but she can perfectly recall her scent—a heady mix of powder, lipstick, toasted sugar, black pepper, tobacco (“Everyone smoked in the Fifties,” notes Rodin), and Juicy Fruit gum. Together with the niche perfume house D.S. & Durga, she recaptured the fragrance, and lovingly called it Bis. Come Mother’s Day, it will be available at Barneys, in a limited-edition gift set that also includes Rodin lip balm. “I would never have thought that she would have such an impact on me,” says Rodin of Beatrice, a former painter, sculptor, furniture designer, interior decorator, and antique store owner—with impeccable style to boot. “But she has, profoundly.”
