’90s Baby Lottie Moss Channels Marc Jacobs’s Rave Dreams

The new face of Chanel eyewear celebrates the new face of Marc Jacobs beauty during New York Fashion Week.

Kaia Gerber just landed her first beauty campaign. Long a darling of Marc Jacobs (and, as the daughter of Cindy Crawford, with fashion in her genes), Gerber was cast by the American designer as the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty, which, for now, means a decadent Hype Williams-directed video and lots of brightly colored makeup. On the other side of the pond, Lottie Moss was just cast as the new face of Chanel eyewear; like Gerber, Moss, the younger sister of supermodel Kate Moss, was an industry insider long before she decided to approach fashion on her own terms. She appears in the Karl Lagerfeld-lensed Chanel eyewear campaign released this week. And, during New York Fashion Week, the two chic heiresses to supermodel-dom came together at Marc Jacobs’s party celebrating Kaia Gerber’s new beauty campaign — Gerber, in a shimmering gold minidress from the Spring 2017 collection, and Moss, in a matching velvet ensemble. The collection was inspired by ’90s ravers — so who better to wear it now than someone born in 1998?

Who: Lottie Moss.

When: Wednesday, February 15.

Where: The Marc Jacobs Beauty party celebrating Kaia Gerber, the star of the brand’s latest beauty campaign directed by music video legend Hype Williams — and the 15-year-old rising model’s first-ever campaign.

What: A velvet miniskirt and matching jacket in dark bottle green with an ivory crocheted top, all from the Spring 2017 Marc Jacobs collection, and black platform sandals.

Why: Marc Jacobs’s Spring 2017 collection was full of candy-colored, iridescent minis and precariously tall platform shoes — tough looks to pull off on your average night on the town. Moss picks and chooses from a couple different runway looks, putting together a matching set that’s just as suitable for a fashion week party as an afternoon about town. Only — in the current winter chill, we might recommend tights. Fishnets are having a moment.
