Met Gala 2017: The Most Talked About Non-Fashion Moments on The Red Carpet

From Diddy lounging to Jaden Smith bringing his old hair as a date, Met Gala 2017 had more than just fashion to keep people abuzz.

The main talking point at the Met Gala is always the fashion. It is after all, the East Coast Oscars, the so-called biggest party of the year, and the American fashion industry and Hollywood’s joint prom. This year’s Comme Des Garçons theme may have meant we had more capital F Fashion than ever to talk about it, but this year’s red carpet (or, technically, blue and beige carpet) had quite a few headline-warranting non-fashion moments as well. Two of the world’s most buzzed about couples made their official red carpet debuts, while Jaden Smith brought his hair as a date. Diddy decided to take a load off in the middle of strutting the steps up to the Met, and the meeting of Michèle Lamy and Migos proved to be something fabulously delightful we did not know we needed.

Jaden Smith Showed Up Holding His Own Dreads

Earlier this month, Will Smith uploaded a video on Facebook in which he helped his son shave his hair. The reason: an upcoming role in the movie Life In A Year. Of course, Jaden Smith did the most Jaden Smith thing ever by bringing locks of his shorn hair with him on the red carpet.

Likewise, Cara Delevingne Painted Her Newly Bald Head Silver

Of course, Jaden Smith’s hair sacrifice was nothing compared to his Life In A Year co-star Cara Delevingne. She was required to completely shave her head bald. While she opted to keep any extra hair she might have had left over at home, she decided to accessorize with some silver scalp plate.

Maybe he just wanted a good look at this girlfriend Cassie?

JLo and A-Rod Made Their Red Carpet Debut

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have been dating for a moment, and haven’t really cared to hide that fact. They’ve teased the relationship on Instagram and been spotted out in pubic after all, but the pair made it red carpet official tonight.

As Did The Weeknd and Selena Gomez

Pretty much “ditto” for Selena and Weeknd. Tonight was the night for power couples to make it official.

Karlie Kloss Took a Pedicab

Apparently in an effort to dodge afternoon traffic in New York, the supermodel hitched a pedicab on her way to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
