“It’s a version of the girls from last season,” explained the makeup artist Dick Page of the slightly undone look at Michael Kors. A lived-in smudge of pale gray lined the upper lashes and there was some warmth on the cheeks, but the most interesting reference was on models’ lips. “Everyone’s obsessed with the model Baptiste [Radufe, who walked in the Kors show], so we did the lips his natural color,” said Page of the muted mauve-plum color (Michael Kors Lip Lacquer in Dame, $24, michaelkors.com), which was similar to the shade manicurist Jin Soon Choi used on the girls’ nails—but with a browner base. Meanwhile, Orlando Pita’s windblown, tucked-under braids were imperfect perfection. “Sometimes Michael’s silhouette is perfect and very strict, this time it’s more fluid, and he wanted the hair to mimic that,” Pita said. He used Schwarzkopf Osis Dusting Powder ($11, amazon.com) on roots, then his own Dry Shampoo ($22, amazon.com) for volume and texture.
