On Tuesday night at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, iconic paintings like Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, Van Gogh's landscapes, and Titian's nudes—all of which hang on the walls—got the luxury leather treatment.
In a new "Masters" collaboration with artist Jeff Koons, Louis Vuitton is offering 50-plus leather goods and accessories with the French house's logo superimposed on paintings of the famous works. The artists' names are also emblazoned in metallic, all-caps text. Plus, each accessory comes with a Koons sculpture keychain to boot.
To toast this collision of high art and luxury fashion, which has been in the works for some time now, Louis Vuitton favorites like Cate Blanchett, Chloe Sevigny, and Michelle Williams rubbed shoulders with art patrons, LVMH's Bernard Arnault, and celebrities like Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston. But the real guest who stole the show was supermodel Miranda Kerr, who artfully juxtaposed leather and lace for her night at the museum.
Who: Miranda Kerr
When: Tuesday, April 11th 2017
Where: The Louvre Museum in Paris, France.
What: The supermodel wore a brown leather Louis Vuitton jacket paired with a lace slip dress and accessorized with a rugged leather belt and mini bag.
Why: Miranda Kerr is a professional when it comes to dressing up in different roles, and this look is a perfect example of her range. In addition to matching her lush brown hair, Kerr's leather Louis Vuitton jacket gives her some toughness and edge, while her little white lace slip dress adds a hint of sophisticated sex appeal. To top it all off, her choice to accessorize with a worn-in leather belt adds even more texture, all while showing off her tiny waist. There's a lot going on here, but the balance is just right.
