SPOILER ALERT

Nick Jonas Won’t Let Future Sister-in-Law Sophie Turner Spoil Game of Thrones

Even though he’s a huge Game of Thrones fan.

It would be a scheme worthy of Littlefinger: Stage a chance meeting between your famous older brother and the actress who plays a lead on the biggest TV show of all time, orchestrate circumstances so they fall in love, and then watch as they get engaged, all so you can get the latest spoilers for Game of Thrones. Thankfully, it’s not at all what Nick Jonas was thinking when Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner announced their impending nuptials.

Speaking with People Now, the Jonas brother revealed that even if his future sister-in-law and incumbent Lady of Winterfell wanted to dish spoilers, he wouldn’t want to hear them.

“I’m a big Game of Thrones fan,” Jonas said. That said, he would never want to press Turner for spoilers. “I was like…’Don’t even hint.’ [Joe’s] had to sign now that he won’t say a word, which makes sense. I don’t want to hear it.”

Nick Jonas Dramatically Reads Craigslist Missed Connections

Jonas blamed his immense spoiler-phobia, as does most everyone with their Game of Thrones-related issues, on the Red Wedding. “My problem is that I came into the show late, I think I started when season 5 or 6 was on TV, so like I was getting really into it, and then the Red Wedding happened,” he said. “And I knew this thing was going to happen. I didn’t know what it was though, and it really messed me up.”

In fact, the infamous scene was so screwed up that he couldn’t even muster enough fake happiness to do his TV show, Kingdom. “My character was a pretty sad guy for the most part, sort of to himself, and just sad. This is the one scene this day that I was shooting that I was supposed to be really happy. And I’m in my trailer before I go on set watching Game of Thrones, and the Red Wedding happened. And I was thrown. So they were like, lots of joy, and stuff, and I just couldn’t do it.”

Red Wedding flashbacks aside, Jonas had nothing but sweet things to say about the future Mrs. Joe Jonas. “It was pretty clear to me early on that this relationship was one that was meant to be in a sense, and their connection is beautiful, and their support system is incredible, and everything that you hope to find in your soulmate,” he said. “I’m really happy for both of them.” Very heartwarming indeed. We don’t want to give anyone any ideas, but it would be really interesting, hypothetically speaking, to see how Jonas would react if Turner walked down the aisle to the Rains of Castamere.
