Tuesday would have been Michael Jackson‘s 59th birthday. In honor of the special day, Paris Jackson paid tribute to her late father with an emotional Instagram post.

The 19-year-old shared a sweet throwback pic of her wearing a party dress and big white bow while kissing her dad, who is wearing his signature single glittery glove. “Birthday wishes to the love of my life, the one person who showed me what passion truly was, the one that gave me solid morals to live by and how to dream. i will never feel love again the way i did with you,” she wrote in the caption. “You are always with me and i am always with you. though i am not you, and you are not me, i know with all of my being that we are one. and our souls will never change in that way. thank you for the magic, forever and always.” She also posted a fan-generated, captionless photo of her on last Sunday’s MTV VMAs red carpet with a faded image of the King of Pop Photoshopped to look like he’s giving her a kiss on the forehead.

The model and actress has previously honored her dad by getting his words and eyes tattooed on her body. In April 2016, she got “Queen of My Heart” inked on the side of her hand in MJ’s handwriting, explaining in a since-deleted Instagram post that, “To everyone else he was the King of Pop. To me, well, he was the king of my heart.” The following month, in another now-deleted post, Paris debuted another of her Michael-inspired tats, an interpretation of the Dangerous album cover featuring her father’s eyes framed by monkeys, elephants, and a crown. “The meaning of life is contained in every single expression of life. It is the present in the infinity of forms and phenomena that exist in all creation,” Paris captioned the post. “Never forget your roots, and always be proud of where you came from.”

And this summer, she got “Apple Head” tattooed on her foot in swirly script, which People revealed was Michael’s nickname for Paris. “With every step I take, you lift my foot and guide me forward. love you,” she captioned a photo of the new ink.
