W‘s beauty director shares the products behind the spring 2015’s toughest looks.

One of the great things about being backstage at fashion shows is watching the hair and makeup pros push their artistic limits, which, in turn, inspires us at W to push ours. At the Burberry Prorsum spring 2015 show, Wendy Rowe’s lips in matte fuchsia (called Lip Cover in Ruby) had beauty editor Katie Becker begging her Burberry connection to hook her up. And I was so mesmerized by the “pierced” brows at Rodarte that I asked the makeup artist James Kaliardos to do mine on the spot. His right-hand man, William Kahn, obliged (see above—look closely), but I took it out after a colleague declared, “I can’t look at you with that thing on your face.”
