There’s Already a Waitlist for Those Saint Laurent Crystal Boots

Saint Laurent’s slouchy crystal boots were one of the standout items during Paris Fashion Week, so of course there’s already a waitlist to buy them.

The standout item of Anthony Vaccarello’s second collection for Yves Saint Laurent? Unquestionably the disco-worthy crystal slouch booties seen with a handful of looks. Rihanna, naturally, was the first person to be spotted in them off the runway, and they’ve already played a part in kicking off a trend of sparkly shoes.

However, they won’t be available to the general public for months, and, yet, there’s already a waitlist for the item, perhaps unsurprising considering the buzz they generated. Women’s Wear Daily reports that both Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman have customers clamoring for the boots, though neither department store would clarify how long those waiting lists are, but Saks said the names were “many.” Saks’ senior vice president, fashion director, Roopal Patel did confirm with the publication that it’s “the boot of the season” in retailers’ eyes. “There’s something to be said about glitz and glamour,” she said.

Once customers do get a chance to buy them, they’ll have to pony up for the reported price tag of $10,000-a-pair. One doesn’t expect shoes covered in 3,000 crystals each to come cheaply (even if those crystals don’t necessarily come with on-trend healing powers).

Those who want to avoid the waitlist but still snag the basic look can of course opt for the leather and suede versions of the slouchy boots that Vaccarello also showed in a handful of styles and colors. They may not be quite the statement piece, but they’re certainly on trend.

Still, waiting for the already Rihanna-approved originals is a small price to pay for some.

They’ll almost certainly bestow street style star status on to anyone who wears them next fashion week.

Or you can just settle for some other bejeweled shoe and take inspiration from the celebrities already rocking the trend below:
