Almost one year ago, Osklen designer Oskar Metsavaht, lost his entire Rio de Janeiro studio and archive in a raging fire that reduced years of hard work to a smoky mound of ashes. On day three of SPFW, Metsavaht mounted a powerful collection that made a fresh start for the label, going back to the foundational basics he has built his career on: protective, sculptural shapes that suggest an elegant athleticism. Post-show, Metsavaht had plans to jet back to Aspen for some snowboarding action, which should be easy to come by given the daily blizzard schedule in the U.S. these days.

Every show at SPFW seems to bring another celebrity, and this time it was Ashton Kutcher’s turn to whip the audience, which included Demi Moore and daughter Tallulah Belle, into a frenzy at sportswear brand Colcci. The crowd went crazy for Gisele, who opened the show, and Alessandra Ambrosio, but Kutcher overshadowed them all when he came out at the show’s close to take a finale lap with the designer. For a big celebrity he seemed uncomfortable with all the attention, but maybe that’s because the audience could barely contain themselves, screaming, yelling and snapping about a thousand photos per second. When he arrived, Kutcher tweeted, “I’m ready for Brazil. Is Brazil ready for me?” He got his answer.
