Thom Browne Fall 2015’s Grieving Girls

Backstage beauty secrets from the pros.

Thom Browne Fall 2015 makeup

As usual, there was nothing ordinary about Thom Browne’s Fall 2015 show. This season, models walked the runway in mourning, sporting sleek low buns, some painted a stark white by stylist Jimmy Paul using Bumble and bumble’s White Hair Powder. “Part it in the middle and add Bb.Gel—it’s super simple,” he says. The makeup was less simple. Using MAC Studio Face and Body Foundation in White, makeup artist Sil Bruinsma juxtaposed pale complexions with dark, smoky eyes. After applying a hint of blush in a new color called Peach Fuzz, the artist painted a small black tear on models’ cheeks using Penultimate Eye Liner in Rapid Black. “They’re grieving,” he explains.
