On the List at the New York EDITION

There was no better way to kick off Frieze week on Tuesday night than at Ian Schrager and W Editor in Chief Stefano Tonchi’s joint launch of the New York EDITION hotel and the third issue of W Art. Guests like Leonardo DiCaprio, Jason Wu, Marilyn Minter, and Gemma Ward gathered to peruse the halls and flip through the magazine over cocktails and dinner. “Oh I love Yoko!” cooed Alexa Chung as she gazed at the W Art issue cover before complimenting Schrager’s latest project. “I like that it’s similar enough to the London one that it seems like a home away from home,” she said. The evening marked the third event co-hosted by W and the EDITION, as well as the third issue of W Art. “W is always a great patron of the arts and they give so much love to the art world,” offered Cynthia Rowley. “And The EDITION is so beautiful, oh my god!”

Nearby, the model Caroline Trentini recalled shooting “Sculpture Garden,” her fashion spread in the issue. “It was so different for me, a different vibe, which was refreshing,” she said. Elsewhere, the recently injured (and newly-brunette) model Hailey Baldwin showed off her new leg cast, Lindsey Wixson playfully dismantled the flower centerpieces at dinner, DJ Q-Tip played a loud set, and Dev Hynes and Chelsea Leyland manned what was decidedly the “cool table.” As the evening wound down and A-listers like Kate Foley, Erin Fetherston, Zoe Buckman, David Schwimmer, Carmen Ejogo, Duffy, and Lucy Chadwick made their way home, the EDITION was officially open to the masses.
