At the 2026 Emmy Awards, Odessa A’zion eschewed the frothy evening gown in favor of something darker, freakier, and steeped in fashion history.

The actor’s two-piece set—from Jean Paul Gaultier’s fall 1996 runway—melds moody romance with a hit of skin-baring bondage wear. Its velvet design features matte black piping outlining body parts, with a statement gold zipper adding some heavy-duty hardware. The silhouette itself is decidedly retro, with a plunging V-neck cut and a fit-and-flare bootcut bottoms. But it’s the ensemble’s dangling details—a sea of trailing tassels that swayed as she posed—that gave the look its edgy allure.

In true Gaultier form, the ’90s collection was full of psychedelic cyber prints, asymmetrical cutouts, bondage-inspired leather, and thin, floor-trailing tassels.
