“One of the stars of the Fendi fall 2014 collection—which had a very neutral palette—was this bright punk-fur Karl Lagerfeld doll. It’s a little Karlito! Cara Delevingne carried him on the runway, and then I got my own at a Fendi appointment. Now I can take Karl Lagerfeld everywhere with me, like a pet. I can kiss him and hold him in my hand, and give him Diet Coke to drink instead of water.”

“Clouds were a huge trend during the fall 2014 collections. Marc Jacobs used them for the set of his runway show; the weather was overcast, rainy, and snowy. This mohair coat at Gucci reminded me of a big cloud—the model disappeared into it when she put it on. I wish we could have pink clouds instead of gray ones all the time!”

“For his Chanel presentation, Karl Lagerfeld created the most fantastical set at the Grand Palais, in Paris: a supermarket where all of the packaged products were Chanel-branded. This is my kind of French toast.”

“The street-style photographers track my every outfit change during the shows, so my W colleague Vanessa Lawrence and I decided to play a prank on them. After I was snapped going into Vera Wang in my Prada coat and Marc Jacobs hat, Vanessa and I swapped clothes before Rodarte to see if we could fool the photographers into thinking someone had stolen my look. It worked until we burst out laughing!”

“During Milan Fashion Week, Salvatore Ferragamo staged a retrospective of its footwear designs at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, using works from student scenography projects as a backdrop. The exhibition had an Alice in Wonderland feel—giant shoes and miniature buildings.”

“Jeremy Scott’s show in New York is always so much fun. This season he had all these sporty outfits, and the backstage was like a superchic locker room. The models Pauline Hoarau and Leomie Anderson look like they just played a game for Team Jeremy. And obviously they won!”
