“My brother Antonio gave my sister, Sara, this telephone as a present. My siblings are always fighting on the phone, and my sister has a big mouth—so that’s why he gave it to her.”

“My friend Derek Blasberg threw a Western-themed birthday party near St. Louis, so this is me, working a Sicilian-meets-cowgirl look, with Hamish Bowles.”

“I wore a long Dolce & Gabbana dress to the Met Costume Institute Gala (above) and did a Frida Kahlo look with my hair. For the afterparties, I changed into a short Dolce & Gabbana shift. At one point I stopped at McDonald’s (right) for a Big Mac. Everyone stared, but it was cool.”

“I saw this skirt online. I loved Barbie and all her clothes when I was growing up. With this piece, instead of dressing up Barbie, you dress up with Barbie.”

“Dasha Zhukova directed this fashion-fetish movie for Nick Knight’s Showstudio and asked me to style it. The film stars Chloë Sevigny as a downtown girl who falls asleep at a party and dreams she’s gone back in time. So I put her in Jeremy Scott in the beginning—and in Prada for the scenes set in the past.”

“The Art Production Fund held a ‘hoedown’ gala. I didn’t even know what a hoedown was! I wore a Marc Jacobs gingham shirt and these gold Rodarte hairpieces. It’s like a chic version of a sheriff.”

“Lisa Perry did a collaboration with Jeff Koons, putting images of his work on her dresses. I met Jeff randomly at an event, and I was so angry I wasn’t wearing one of the pieces, because he could have signed it for me. Now I’m going to buy one, and maybe I’ll find him again.”
