Celebrities, including Best Actor winner Casey Affleck, weren’t afraid to get political at Saturday’s Independent Film Awards, hosted by Nick Kroll and Nick Mulaney. “The policies of this administration are abhorrent, and they won’t last,” said Affleck. Other big winners of the night included Best Female Lead went to Isabelle Huppert for Elle; Best Supporting Male to Ben Foster for Hell or High Water; Best Supporting Female to Molly Shannon for Other People, as well as Moonlight for Best Feature. The show brought out top actors and actresses from this year’s illustrious slate of independent films, including Ruth Negga, Naomie Harris, Frieda Pinto, Aubrey Plaza, Jenny Slate, and more.
