Model and actress Lily-Rose Depp is used to large-scale photoshoots for brands like Chanel, but for her recent collaboration with the photographer Luke Gilford, the duo chose a more intimate production. “It was just the two of us and our friend Walker–no crew whatsoever,” explained Gilford in a statement. Though the images were shot earlier this month, and released today, the idea to work together had be a long time coming. Depp and Gilford have been friends for two years, ever since they went to see a movie together through mutual friends. After sending each other photos and ideas for some time, they eventually settled on a concept that paid homage to Depp’s mother, the French actress Vanessa Paradis. “[It was] obviously a very personal process for Lily,” Gilford added. “We went and bought a wig inspired by a shoot her mother had done years before, and spent a couple days hanging out and taking photos together at home.” Here, the results of their collaboration.
