A Look Back at Benjamin Cho, Through his Fashion and His Friends
Over the weekend, the designer Benjamin Cho—Ben to his friends—died. For a certain crowd and generation of New Yorkers, Cho was part of the fabric of the city, an ubiquitous fixture of many scenes whom everyone seemed to know. His fashion shows were spectacles of New York chic and playful avant-garde, and they drew a crowd— Chloë Sevigny, Natasha Lyonne, the Olsens, the Misshapes—the that was a snapshot of the New York of the early Aughts. Here, a look back at his work and his inner circle of friends and peers.
