Scandinavia: Where It Girls, Royals and Pop Icons Cross Paths

With the vibrant Copenhagen Fashion Week just wrapping up, and Norwegian Fashion Week just getting started, it has never been clearer that Scandinavia is a destination of the moment. The Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway and Sweden are home to plenty of trendsetters—aside from the nations’ embarrassment of riches when it comes to furniture designer, homegrown models, and assorted Skarsgårds, they’re also teeming with It girls that flock to the streets with so much colorful charisma that they’re starting to make the coveted “French girl look” appear boring and uninspired. Even Scandinavia’s fashion royalty, from It girls of the moment like Tine Andrea to Celine Aagaard, are not only brushing elbows with one another in street style shots during Fashion Week, but have crossed paths with British royalty as well. Kate Middleton and Prince William have been having a blast on their tour through Scandinavia, hitting Sweden and Norway, and even unwinding with some hockey fun in between appearances. Of course, we would also be remiss if we didn’t mention that Sweden has long been a hotbed for chart topping pop music over the decades—ABBA and producers like Max Martin have worked with and inspired generations of musicians from Robyn to Zara Larsson and Tove Lo. Take a look at all of the It girls, royals and pop stars making Scandinavia a refreshing destination of the moment, here.

1

Norway native Celine Aagaard, the former editor-in-chief of STYLEmag, takes a quick Fashion Week break at the Nobis Hotel Copenhagen in chic black and white.

2

Kate Middleton (in a faux fur hat, in case you’re wondering) slammed a hockey puck during her visit to a Bandy hockey event in Stockholm.

3

Swedish pop icon Robyn in the studio. Hopefully she’s working on a follow-up album to Body Talk because, let’s be honest, it’s been way too long since we’ve had new Robyn music in our ears.

4

Pop singer Astrid S, who has collaborated with Shawn Mendes and The Vamps and toured with Troye Sivan, posed in front of the mountains in Ålesund, Norway.

5

Musician Zara Larsson, who you may know from collaborations with Clean Bandit, David Guetta and Ty Dollar Sign, attended the Swedish Elle gala at the Grand Hôtel Stockholm in January.

6

The rebellious Cajsa Wessberg, who in addition to a career as a model is also an artist and illustrator, posed backstage at Stockholm Fashion Week with Yoyo Nasty.

7

Linda Hallberg, a makeup artist with her own cult cosmetics line of unapologetically bold colors, showed her makeup prowess at Stockholm Fashion Week in Sweden.

8

Amanda Norgaard, a model who once inspired The Vaccines to write a song in her honor, shared a Super Blood Moon selfie ahead of a “full moon cacao ceremony” in Denmark.

9

Fashion editor Darja Barannik, born in Russia but raised in Norway, took a moment to snap this picture in between shows at Copenhagen Fashion Week.

10

Janka Polliani, a moteblogger (or fashion blogger as we say in English), took a street style snap with some friends, including Barannik, for Copenhagen Fashion Week.

11

Style star Annabel Rosendahl looked perfect in nearly all pink at Copenhagen Fashion Week, proving the color is still a global millennial favorite. Her bag is by local favorite brand Boyy.

Last but not least, Prince William and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, both future monarchs, took a stroll after lunch in front of the Royal Palace.
