Friday Night Brights

On Friday, the downtown art crowd ventured uptown for the Studio Museum in Harlem for the Uptown Fridays! summer soiree. The more than two hundred attendees celebrated the recent openings of the ultra colorful Stanley Whitney painting show, Dance the Orange and the artists in residence group show, Everything, Everyday. Eric Mack and Lauren Halsey—two of Studio’s artists in residence—took partygoers through the galleries while the actress Susan Sarandon and a courtyard full of friends—dressed in dashiki shirts and beautifully tailored mixed-print dresses—his the dance floor to 90s R&B hits. TGIF, indeed.
