Fashion designers may get all the attention during fashion week, but beauty brands also play a significant role -- from getting the models runway-ready, to throwing extravagant parties. At Paris Fashion Week, both L'Oreal Paris and MAC (in collaboration with Kenzo) threw glitzy parties that drew out models, It Girls and musicians. Below, a side by side comparison of the fetes. Turns out, glitter plays a starring role at beauty parties.

Location, location, location
L'Oreal: La Monnaie de Paris, France's longest standing institution.
MACxKenzo: Le Consulat, a four-story building – with a closed off fifth VIP level – that's housed pop up exhibitions, lectures, classes and performances organized by Action Group Neo Green during most of September, and this party, in the 9th arrondissement, was the last event before the space would change again.
