While most actresses’ daring transformations seem to align with the seasonal shifts of the year, pacing their fresh cuts and color changes at the start of a fresh new season, British actress Daisy Ridley prefers to follow her own rules. After debuting a soft honey blonde hue in early February, the Star Wars: The Last Jedi actress has already changed her hair color again, this time opting for red.

Stepping out in a teal blue ankle-length velvet dress, the British beauty showed off newly dyed locks that were perfectly swept back into a elegantly neat chignon, exposing her nearly brunette roots. Keeping the rest of her look romantically minimal, the 25-year-old paired her colorful ensemble with a classic winged cat eye, a hint of blush on the cheekbones, a sheer glossy lip, and a freshly painted red manicure. And while most A-listers opt to go for lighter tones as the warmer months approach, as seen on stars like Jessica Biel and Mandy Moore, Ridley dared to go against the grain, further reinventing what defines a spring makeover.

This isn’t the first time the actress has experimented with an auburn-to-brunette shade, Ridley rocked a similar fiery hue in a choppy, blunt bob while accepting her award for Breakout Star at the Teen Choice Awards in 2016. But the actress’s present-day hair transformation serves as a more understated approach. Now we can only anticipate what’s next.
