What is your favorite beach? Trunk Bay, St. John, in the Virgin Islands. We have a family house on the island, so the memories are endless. Our home is a mile away from the beach, so I usually try to hike down the side of the mountain to get in some exercise. After immediately jumping in the water, we sit for a picnic and a nap—my favorite thing to do. The beach is really small—about a mile long—and is an island secret. Because its not too crowded and the bay is really calm, I usually take a long swim in the later afternoon along the beach. The day ends watching the sunset and drinking bushwhackers from the beach bar – the name of the drink is a little intense, but it’s delicious. Trust me.

What’s the local secret? Go to Castaways for karaoke, Skinny Legs for the best burgers and live music, the Terrance for an unforgettable meal, and Chateau Bordeaux for no frills, local island dishes.

How does this beach inspire your work? I am definitely the happiest when I am by the water and in the sun. The fact that I am able to actually relax is probably the most inspiring of all!

What is your favorite thing to wear to the beach? Going to the beach is the only time that I pack light! I just bring Clarins sunscreen and lip balm, my Celine sunglasses or classic Ray-Band aviators, water (both fresh coconut and still), Birkenstocks (the Madrid slip-on in black patent), a striped beach towel and my favorite Giejo suit and cover-up!
