Martin Scorsese goes broad and deep in his two-part documentary, George Harrison: Living in the Material World. Race car driver Jackie Stewart reminisces on his friend’s surprising love of the sport; Monty Python actor Eric Idle recounts the time the former Beatle mortgaged his bucolic mansion to finance Life of Brian; and Harrison’s wife, Olivia, recalls when a knife-wielding madman nearly killed her husband in that same house. Airing on HBO October 5 and 6, the epic bio is a long, strange trip well worth two nights on the couch.
