The Tanzanian model shares a page from her beauty notes.

Herieth Paul Beauty Notes

In W’s April 2014 issue, Tanzanian model Herieth Paul wears Dolce & Gabbana’s Matte Lipstick and little else. In real life, the 19-year-old uses cherries as a natural lip stain and swears by a homemade body scrub. Here, she explains her secrets:

Your look in three words: Calm, confident, cocky-ish.

Five-minute routine: I put on moisturizer, concealer under my eyes, a little mascara, lip balm, and perfume.

Never leave the house without: My passport. You never know where you’ll end up.

Beauty from the inside out: As a young woman, finding and identifying with inner beauty and self-respect is not easy. I try to remind myself to be my authentic self before I start my day.

Exercise regime: Hot yoga during the week, and Pilates on the weekend.

Beauty essentials: Serum, exfoliator, tinted moisturizer, mascara, and eye cream.

Skincare secret: Conditioner as shaving cream. It not only softens the hair making it easier to shave, it leaves legs feeling super silky and smooth.

Hair remedy: I use conditioner every other day, and shampoo once a month. Shampoo is too harsh on my hair.

In-tub must-read: W Magazine and Reader’s Digest.

Spa-cation at: Greenhouse Holistic in Williamsburg.

Fragrance of choice: Burberry Brit Rhythm.

Best advice from mom: Cherries are great as a lip stain.

Best advice from the pros: A mixture of brown sugar, honey, and olive oil scrubs off all the dead skin from your body.

Beauty icons: Lupita Nyong’o, and Bad Girl RiRi.

Anything else: I just discovered using a toothbrush as a lip scrubber leaves the lips so soft and plum like.
