SOCIAL DISTANCING

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez Are Getting Antsy About Their Wedding

So antsy, in fact, that they’re considering having a “drive-through wedding” instead of canceling the nuptials completely during the coronavirus pandemic.

Quarantine may look easy for Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, but they have felt the effects of the pandemic on at least one major life event of theirs: their wedding.

The former professional baseball player opened up about his time in quarantine with Lopez and their children on an episode of The Tonight Show, and revealed that his highly anticipated wedding to Lopez is indeed postponed indefinitely, even though it was rumored they had planned to get married this summer.

“Everything is fluid. Everything has been put on pause,” Rodriguez he told Jimmy Fallon, before adding he wants to “see where the world takes us.”

Lopez and Rodriguez certainly are not the only celebrities dealing with a delay in their wedding plans. The royal family canceled Princess Beatrice’s wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, which was supposed to take place on May 29 in England, and even Emma Stone and Dave McCary postponed their nuptials as well.

“These are obviously unprecedented times,” he went on, “And for us, we just want to make sure ‘safety first,’ and that all the little ones are in a good place.”

But just because everyone must practice safe social distancing measures amid the coronavirus pandemic doesn’t mean all events are totally canceled. After Rodriguez’s daughter Ella celebrated her 12th birthday the other day with a drive through parade at their Miami home, he tossed around the idea that maybe he and Lopez could adopt a similar method for their upcoming nuptials. “Some people said, ‘Maybe we have a drive-through wedding? It’ll be cheaper,” Rodriguez laughed.

Or, instead of spending tens of thousands of dollars on a wedding ceremony, they could just use that money on other things, like a baseball team.
