Justin Verlander and Kate Upton are having a wonderful, fabulous, so good, not bad week. On Wednesday, November 1, Houston Astros Justin Verlander and the team won the World Series for the first time in the franchise's history. On Saturday, November 4, Verlander and model Kate Upton got married in Tuscany, Italy. Sure, it meant missing the victory parade in Houston, but when you gotta get married in Tuscany, you gotta get married in Tuscany.
The couple looked like picture perfect bride and groom wedding cake toppers in a white gown and veil and black tuxedo. Upton "carried a bouquet of peach, light pink and ivory flowers and the outdoor ceremony was decorated with similar floral arrangements," per People. The two started dating three years ago (back when Verlander was with the Detroit Lions) and became engaged in 2016; they revealed their engagement at last year's Met Gala.
No official word yet on honeymoon plans, but Upton previously told People Style that she wants to do something rustic. “I want to go on a safari for the honeymoon so bad, but he’s not…I don’t know,” she said in February, “Every year I tell him I want to go on a safari and every year for a gift he’ll get me like a stuffed animal tiger. Or like flowers from Africa. Not the same."
Looks like her bachelorette party was at The Plaza Hotel in New York.
The Sports Illustrated cover model and lover of hydration told People in May that for her gown, she was looking for “something that’s classic, with a sexy twist.” And she knew that whatever she picked, Justin (“my perfect partner”) would like it. “He’s a lover, not a judger.” We should all be so blessed.
