Nina Lawrence joined W, the fashion bible, in 2005 as vice president and publisher. Under her leadership, the magazine has experienced three record-breaking years. Previously, she served as vice president and publisher of the Conde Nast Bridal Group, which includes the leading bridal magazines—Brides, Elegant Bride and Modern Bride, and their corresponding websites and regional magazines. Before that, she was publisher of Brides and prior to that, she was publisher of Mademoiselle.

In 2004, she was recognized by Folio as a “Person to Watch.”

Under Ms. Lawrence’s leadership as publisher of Brides from 1999 to 2002, the magazine maintained the highest circulation in the field, experienced record-breaking ad page gains, and was awarded four successive Guinness World Records for publishing the “largest magazine in the world.”

Before joining Brides, Ms. Lawrence served as publisher of Mademoiselle, a sister Conde Nast publication. From 1996 to 1998, Ms. Lawrence was publisher of Modern Bride, where she grew the magazine’s profits 24 percent over a two-year period and oversaw the launch of modernbride.com. Prior to Mademoiselle, she was publisher of Disney Adventures Magazine and before that she served as advertising director of Discover Magazine.

In 1991, Ms. Lawrence served as president of Family Publishing Concepts, a start-up company. From 1987 to 1990, she was with Hearst Publishing, first as advertising sales director of Diversion magazine (1987-1989), then as publisher of Hearst Professional Magazines, a custom publishing operation. Her first advertising sales job was with Time magazine in 1986. She joined Time Inc.’s Magazine Sales Development Program in 1985 after starting her career as a media planner at Benton & Bowles, Inc. in 1983.

Ms. Lawrence is a 1982 cum laude graduate of Middlebury College. She resides in Westport, Connecticut with her husband and their two children.
