Off the Wall

Inspired by the work of politically engaged artists like Diego Rivera, Miuccia Prada invited four muralists and two illustrators to collaborate on In the Heart of the Multitude, a floor-to-ceiling installation that served as the backdrop for her spring 2014 collection. The theme— strong women—was echoed in the clothes and accessories that marched down the runway to the tune of Britney Spears’s “Work Bitch.” We were especially intrigued by these bags, featuring images by Gabriel Specter, Jeanne Detallante, and Stinkfish. Feminist statement, fashion statement, artwork… yes, apparently you can have it all.
