J’adore: Terry de Gunzburg

The woman behind YSL’s iconic Touche Eclat Concealer and the cult By Terry makeup and skincare line is launching Haute Parfumerie Terry de Gunzburg, her first fragrance collection. Here, she shares her other passions.

C Best Ltd, New Covent Garden market, London This wholesaler has amazing flowers, plants, candelabra, and vases. It’s open only from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. I like to get there at 5 to get the freshest and most exquisite scented English roses. (

Shaw Brothers, India They are based in India, but they come to London twice a year with their pashminas and blankets. I like them as much for their materials — the finest cashmere — as for their beautiful embroideries and vibrant colors. Every year I stock up on Christmas gifts. (

Galerie du Passage, Paris Pierre Passebon curates fantastic exhibitions here. I am always sure to discover an avant-garde designer or the best piece by Jean Royère or Jean-Michel Frank. He recently presented the work of Vincent Darré — who makes clothes, jewelry, furniture, and theatrical decorations — and I bought the entire show! (

Diet Coke Limited Edition Designer Series I hosted a dinner during the Frieze Art Fair last October, and instead of flowers, I decorated the table with limited-edition soda cans and bottles designed by Karl Lagerfeld, Moschino, and Jean Paul Gaultier. It was like my own art installation. (

Fendi’s Fall 2013 Ponyskin Booties Furry pumps and ankle boots were all over the catwalks, and I’ll be investing in Fendi’s amazing pair. (

Dominique Levy Gallery, New York I met Dominique 20 years ago, when she worked in private sales at Christie’s. She became our art adviser and helped me and my husband, Jean, get some major pieces by Rothko, Bacon, and Basquiat before the prices went crazy. She also introduced us to the work of some of our favorite artists. I can’t wait for her new gallery to open. (

Layered Fragrance I never wear just one scent. Right now, I’ve got my new Ombre Mercure—a patchouli oriental with rose, iris, and violet—on my wrist and my fig scent, Flagrant Délice, on my neck. Fragrance is a sex appeal tool. One that works, for sure! (
