Thurston Moore may have moved on from Sonic Youth, but he’s not let go of the past entirely: The guitarist is still an avid cassette tape collector, as seen in his collection now on display at the new Sonos store in Soho. Hear what else is on deck for him with his culture diet, here.
First thing you read in the morning: I try to read her mind, and then plan accordingly.
Books on your bedside table right now: Poetry manuscript by Radieux Radio — my favorite poet.
The TV shows keeping you up at night: I do not watch TV. (It’s making people numb and filling conversations with inertia.)
Last movie you saw in theaters: We just came from the cinema. The new Woody Allen is a must-see whilst in NYC.
Last thing you saw at the theater: An incredible play about London’s Angry Brigade at an independent theater in West London. Well done with an incredible unknown actress playing the role of Anna Mendelssohn.
Last piece of art you bought, or ogled: I just received as a birthday present a piece of art by Henri Chopin.
Last museum exhibition that you loved: The Sonia Delaunay exhibition was sublime — as usual.
Release you’re most eagerly anticipating: I love the Norwegian black metal band Mayhem and their bass player Necrobutcher will release his illustrated autobiography in North America in spring 2017….
Summer travel destination: Italy, of course. (Was it Verdi who said “you can have the world, but leave Italy to me?”)
Last song you had on repeat: I rarely hear anything on repeat. I don’t listen to music that way. Cassettes and record players do not have a “repeat” button.
Last concert you saw live: Trash Kit in London — who killed it.
How you get your news: By drum; I feel the vibrations.
Favorite Instagram accounts to follow: Looking at photos of the universe on the ESA (European Space Agency)’s Instagram. Real star news.
Favorite podcasts: The Watt from Pedro Show! (I love you Watt!)
Last thing you do before you go to bed: I kiss my love — her head, her clavicle, her perfect lips.
