It’s Serayah McNeill’s first time in London.

“Like, ever,” said the 21-year-old actress at the Topshop Unique show which took over Old Spitalfields Market on Sunday afternoon in East London. “It’s a big eye opener.”

Known for her role as singer Tiana Brown on Empire – which returns this week – McNeill, who has dabbled in music in the past, said she’s planning on releasing an independent mixtape – no date set yet.

“I’m thinking about the first single though … coming out very soon …” she said, describing her sound as “R&B meets urban pop.”

The Topshop Unique show – a throwback to the 80s – is one of the many brands this season to embrace the runway-to-retail experience with a portion of the collection being sold on-site as well as online.

Other front row faces included singer Ellie Goulding, Kate Moss’ 18-year-old half-sister Charlotte (aka Lottie) Moss and celebrity offspring Anaïs Gallagher, daughter of Oasis' Noel Gallagher.

“Topshop is always really affordable and keeps in with the latest trend,” said Gallagher. “There’s always lots of color and pattern, which I absolutely love.”

The 16-year-old isn’t living your typical teenage life.

“I’m only going to shows that are on the weekend, cause I’m still at college, so I have to stay in school,” she continued, “college” in this case being the British term for high school. “But I’m trying to get in as many as I can on the weekend.”
