Handcrafted, sustainable knits aren’t always considered high-fashion, but knitwear collective Wool and the Gang—designed by Central Saint Martins graduates Jade Harwood and Aurelie Popper—is changing that. In addition to providing DIY Knit Kits, so that crafty consumers can easily create their own items, the brand’s international artisans create pre-made pieces, some of which were included in London-based designer Giles Deacon’s Fall 2014 show. “We share the same playful vision, outlook, and bold approach,” Deacon says. Adds Harwood: “Working with Giles was a dream come true.”
