Yazbukey x Cire Trudon: Eau de Leather, Lipstick, and Hairspray

Paris-based accessories designer Yaz Bukey creates a 1950s rockabilly chick on the back of her boyfriend’s motorcycle inspired candle for Cire Tudon.

Yaz Bukey, the Paris-based accessories designer, is known for her tongue-in-cheek plexiglass pieces; her fall 2013 collection, “Murder She Wrote,” pays tribute to Agatha Christie and Angela Lansbury with heart-and-dagger headwear and handbags inlaid with detective novels. And when it comes to fragrance she is as equally irreverent: Her new limited-edition candle for Cire Trudon was inspired by the notion of a 1950s rockabilly chick on the back of her boyfriend’s motorcycle. “I wanted it to smell like leather, lipstick, and hairspray,” she explained at its launch last night, a choker made of five manicured middle fingers dangling from her neck. Available for $95 at Aedes de Venustas, the candle comes with a plexiglass lid featuring Bukey’s trademark “C’est ahhh” pout.
