While it may be hard not to imagine facing the cameras and star wattage at Hollywood’s most extravagant red carpets and afterparty soirees without an abundance of free-flowing champagne and rosé, certain stars have chosen the forgo the alcohol all together. Whether it’s because of newfound sobriety or just long-held personal preference, these models, actors, and actresses have opened up about their reasons for forsaking alcohol. For example, alcohol has never appealed much to Blake Lively, Pharrell, and Kim Kardashian, while Gerald Butler, Bradley Cooper, Lana Del Rey open up about paths to total sobriety. And as of recently, Chrissy Teigen opened up about her path to drinking less, revealing to Cosmopolitan that,”I used to think it was kind of nutty to have to go totally sober, but now I get it.” Here, we take a closer look at the A-listers who have completely embraced the sober life.

Actress Black Lively revealed to Allure magazine back in 2012 that drugs and alcohol don’t appeal to her, stating that, “I don’t drink. I’ve never tried a drug. It’s just something that I genuinely don’t have a desire for.”
