Why Were Fergie, Liev Schreiber, and the Misshapes All in the Bahamas This Weekend?
With the relaunch of the hotel The Cove in the sprawling Bahamas resort Atlantis, a varied contingent of actors, musicians, and celebrities descended on the island to take in the best beaches the Atlantic has to offer—and, judging by appearances, they’ve had a much less turbulent ride than the A-listers who made their way to the Bahamas for the ill-fated Fyre Festival. Naturally, the event even had its own hashtag—#TheCoveWeekend—that is already populated by views of the crystalline island shores and beachfront selfies from the likes of actress Jackie Cruz and the DJ collective the Misshapes. Model Karolina Kurkova brought the whole family along for the weekend, stopping to shoot a quick photo with the prop plane that would shepherd them to the Bahamas; musician Spencer Ludwig played with the dolphins at the Cove before a performance; and Brooke Shields stopped by a local café. While the original opening of the Cove featured a performance by Janet Jackson, this one was headlined by Fergie, who brought Liev Schreiber on stage to sing along to her crowd favorite “I Gotta Feeling.” See why the Bahamas are once again the fall’s go-to beach getaway, here.
