Ariana Grande is happily lovin’, livin’, and pickin’ it up with fiancé Pete Davidson, but some of her fans, apparently, are having trouble following their pop queen wholeheartedly into her new relationship. Earlier this week, for example, one of these so-called fans took to the official Instagram page for Ari’s upcoming album Sweetener not only to claim that they wouldn’t be listening to the song on the album named after Pete, but also to accuse Ariana of cheating on former flame Mac Miller with Pete.

Celeb watchdog the Shade Room captured the entire interaction, which went down in the comments section of a post partially showing the album’s track list. One person decided to spend time commenting, “Ari cheated on maccccccc,” an otherwise boring attempt at trolling that Grande chose as an opportunity to clap back at any rumors. The four octave soprano wrote, “i didn’t but go off. can u like …. go stan someone else ? ur boring.” She also responded to the IG user’s other statement about skipping the Sweetener track called “Pete Davidson,” writing, “awwwww boo f*cking hoo Alexa play Pete Davidson.” Later, in a general comment on the same post, Ariana stood by her clapback: “i’ll never f*ck wit meanies. 🙂 love u carry on,” she wrote.

Though Ariana certainly doesn’t owe anybody any answers or information about her relationship, she has taken the time to defend her rapid-fire engagement several times before. Last month, when some fans criticized her for naming a song on the album after Pete, she once again took to the Insta comments to respond. “He’s my fiancé. This is my album,” she wrote. “I’m an honest and emotional artist and human being and if my openness in my work isn’t for you, that’s OK; I won’t be offended. Still wishing y’all all the love in the world.”
